That was a great win for Sword Fish yesterday (backed into 3/1 from 5s after our tip) and another captivating afternoon of racing awaits us, both sides of the Irish Sea. Read the rest of this entry »
The nap (Ogee) ran poorly but yesterday’s other bet was Captain Cee Bee and he looked the winner approaching the last at Leopardstown, only to fall and leave the race at the mercy of the somewhat fortunate Sizing Europe. Read the rest of this entry »
Fantastic racing today but the dreaded seven-runner fields have ruined a number of stonking ’each-way’ thieving bets - you know how much we like them! Read the rest of this entry »
With only one meeting today. we’ve only got one tip. Read the rest of this entry »
Two meetings survive the weather today but we’re keeping our powder dry until Tuesday in our attempt to notch a third consecutive winner - snow permitting!
With turf racing decimated today, we’ll have just the one tip. Let’s hope it’s a winner like yesterday when Lucky Mellor scored for us - albeit at a price reduced by non-runners. Read the rest of this entry »
With Ascot abandoned, we’re left with just one fancy today.
Lucky Mellor has an excellent record at Southwell and returns to the track for today’s 1.00 contest over his favoured five furlongs - he looks good each-way at 5/1.
A lower draw may have been preferred but he’s a solid performer here and can surely be in the mix againgst the likes of R Woody and Italian Tom.

We’re back after a welcome break with two tips that both merit consideration in the ‘each-way bet to nothing’ section - perhaps an e/w double would also suit.
First up is the topically-named Ice Bucket in Ludlow’s 2.40.
Henrietta Knight’s charge has been running consistently well without getting his head in front but has a fine chance today - even if Nelliedonethat is a worthy opponent.
At Exeter, Diamond Brook couldn’t cope with the classy Pepe Simo at Wincanton and will be delighted he meets nothing of that calibre in today’s 1.50 race.
The going and track will suit him and he is good value at 7/2.

Yesterday’s nap Alderburn at least grabbed a place to achieve the each-way ’steal’ bet - however our other tips failed to trouble the judge.
We’re taking a few days off and will hopefully return in the form that we’ve shown all year rather than the form we’ve shown in the past week or so - which has been our worst of all 2009!
Next update is likely to be Thursday morning but check back and also on Twitter (www.twitter.com/FreeRacingTips) to see of anything occurs in the meantime.
Alderburn is the nap selection in the 3.20 at Doncaster today.
Henry Daly’s inmate can reverse recent form with Laskari and looks a value each-way option at 5/1 - money back if he finishes in the frame is always a boon.
Today’s trip suits our tip better and both his handicap mark and ground conditions are absolutely in his favour so we’re expecting a big run from him.
Panjo Bere is an interesting 10/1 shot in Cheltenham’s 1.15 race and a bigger price for those of you who don’t like going each-way on the 5/1 shots!
Trainer Gary Moore is in top form and he has put son Joshua on board today - with his seven pound claim, this 6yo has an excellent chance of breaking his seasonal duck.
For those who like multiples or more punts, others worth reduced stakes bets are Zemsky (12.45 Cheltenham) and Exulto (1.00 Doncaster).
Andrew Balding is more renowned for flat than jumps winners he certainly knows his way round the winter game and we fancy his runner Show Winner in Huntingdon’s 1.30.
He made a pleasing seasonal debut at Ascot last time, looking likely to improve on his next run and now Tony McCoy takes over in the saddle - grab 9/2 each-way.
Digger Gets Lucky didn’t live up to his name when slipping on landing and having to be pulled up last time out but he returns to Huntingdon for the 3.00 race.
At 20/1, he is worth a speculative e/w interest, especially as he was 11/2 on that run and is clearly held in some regard. Let’s hope he’s over that experience though.

We’v scoured the race cards for today but, as with yesterday, can’t find anything worth posting as a bet - we never put up tips just for the sake of it, only selections that we’re backing.
There’s excellent racing to come later in the week so we’ll be busy then - indeed we’ve got a strong fancy for a runner on Thursday, so we’ll have a morning update then.
Not a day when we’ll go overboard but there are a couple of runners at Lingfield’s all-weather track that catch our eye from an each-way perspective - perhaps an e/w double.
Sestet (3.30) has ran well twice at Kempton since a significant absence and can defy top-weight against a moderate bunch of opponents - she should at least be placed.
Ask The Oracle (3.00) hails from the shrewd Hughie Morrison yard and is ready to gain a welcome first victory, especially as we feel the step up to 12 furlongs will suit him well.
