As we mentioned on Twitter (www.twitter.com/FreeRacingTips ), Lysander’s victory was great as he was our nap yesterday but the bet that’s been getting the e-mails and texts flowing is the Racing Post Trophy/Derby double on the exciting St Nicholas Abbey.
Thanks to our Irish contact, most of us have got 12/1 about the above - good work, as he’s now generally 3/1 for Epsom - but some of you seem to have got 14/1 and even 16/1!!
Fingers crossed that he stays fit as it was a performance of immense potential and we’ve all certainly got something to dream about over the winter.
With some of the team out of the country this week (half-term holidays for the family men!), our daily updates will be later than usual - we’ll be posting by midday for the next few days, enabling even the bronzed gods to get over the time delay and have their say!
We had a (well-backed) 3/1 winner, 9/1 each-way second and a non-runner yesterday but today’s cards are not exactly the easiest to solve - it’s tricky.
However we’ve napped Marine Spirit in the opening race at York (2.10).
Godolphin continue to bang in the winners in great style - how many others had written them off earlier this season when we told you they’d be back? - and our Newmarket contact says the ‘boys in blue’ are keen on this one’s chances.
The form of his Warwick defeat has been franked and, at the tissue price of 9/2, he looks a compelling each-way ‘bet to nothing’.
Nothing else catches the eye in the afternoon cards but we’re awaiting news from Dundalk and may post again at 6.30 this evening if we have anything to report.

French trainer Criquette Head has to be respected when she sends runners over to the Cheveley Park Stakes so Special Duty merits the nap in Newmarket’s 2.30 race.
Lady Of The Desert is a worthy favourite but we believe the selection’s form makes 5/2 a value proposition to give Head a fourth victory in the event.
We’re going for Poet’s Voice in the Middle Park Stakes, even though Showcasing will be a warm order (3.05). These are two talented colts and should both go on to better things.
However the Godolphin team are confident of success, especially if he settles well early.
Henry Cecil continues to send out a steady stream of winners and he can have an excellent afternoon, highlighted by the chances of Manifest in Newmarket’s 3.10.
This beautifully-bred colt was a hugely impressive 19 length winner at the track last month and our HQ contact just won’t hear of defeat for him today.
Akmal is a worthy opponent but Manifest is considered to be out of the top drawer.
While on Cecil, it’s worth noting that he loves to introduce a promising newcomer in today’s opener (2.00) so Protaras is a fascinating debutant - particularly if he’s available at each-way odds of 5/1 or more.
Also at Goodwood, the master trainer aims for a five-timer with Acquisition and this admirable type is just the sort to produce yet another winning handicap performance.
Away from Cecil, our next best is Bounty Box is the 4.55 at Newmarket.
Chris Wall’s inmate has had a break since completing a quick double and will be primed to continue her trainer’s excellent record in this event.
Yesterday’s market move for our each-way nap (down from 9/2 to 5/2) highlighted the need to have multiple betting accounts, especially those with best odds guaranteed - click on the adverts on the page and you’ll also get loads of free bets.
Fantastic racing today and it was a real task to narrow down our picks to a nap and next best, as there are a number of well-priced runners.
The Ayr Gold Cup (3.10) is as competitive as ever but we feel Genki has more to give following his Stewards’ Cup success.
While he’s not drawn particularly well, Roger Charlton’s inmate has the class to complete a famous double, on the way to becoming a proper Group class sprinter.
At 12/1, he’s crying out to be backed each-way.
Laterly should have been placed at York last time and could provide a value each-way proposition at 28/1 in the tough John Smith’s Stakes (Newbury 2.50).
Others close to the shortlist were Quarrel (Newbury 2.20), Haadeeth (1.50 Newbury) and Brief Look (2.25 Newmarket) - it’s one of those days when there’s almost too many with chances! However, we’ve gone for the brave option with our two big-priced selections.

Yesterday’s two winners from two picks sets us up for some serious business today.
We had a good word for Miss Miracle before her debut and she showed huge promise in finishing fourth behind future May Hill winner Pollenator.
Some big yards are represented in Newmarket’s 2.30 but Clive Cox’s inmate is a great each-way (or win only if you’re braver) bet at around 9/2.
It’s a similar scenario with Gritstone in Ayr’s 1.50 - opponents from top stables mean a very promising first run hasn’t made the price too prohibitive.
Richard Fahey had a fantastic Thursday at the track and the yard are very sweet on this one, especially at odds of 6/1.
An each-way double on the above pair could also prove worthwhile.
Elsewhere (and just missing making our two daily tips), the going wouldn’t put us off Look Here as she has outstanding claims in Newbury’s 2.45 while, for those who like longshots, Motivational had massive excuses last time and could surprise in the 7.20.
Sir Michael Stoute did not have the best Ebor Festival by his high standards and we feel Strawberrydaquiri could be a vulnerable odds-on favourite at Sandown today.
David Lanigan has his team in tip-top form and Say No Now could add to his growing reputation by taking the listed Atalanta Stakes (2.10) ahead of the ‘jolly’.
We’d advise an each-way interest at the currently available odds of 8/1.
Regular readers will be aware how well Godolphin’s juveniles are running and Buzzword is expected to land the Group Three Solario Stakes at 2.40.
Frankie Dettori is aboard Buzzword and also has an excellent chance in the 4.25 as he rides Rocket Rob from the Simon Callaghan yard.
