Today’s tips: San & Cross

By Editor On September 30th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

San Cassiano made an eye-catching winning debut at Kempton recently and can follow up in Salisbury’s 4.15 race today.

Trainer Ralph Beckett has his team in good form and this highly-regarded individual can add to his tally - if there are eight runners, go each-way at 9/2.

Earlier at the same track, Simon Dow’s Seasonal Cross (2.00) is another backed to gain a second successive victory - Hayley Turner’s mount remains on a reasonable mark.

At Kempton, the Clive Cox-trained Perfect Silence makes plenty of appeal in the 7.50 - she gained a recent course and distance win and can build on that.

Today’s tips: Spanish and Counsel

By Editor On September 29th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Spanish Conquest has blossomed over hurdles this summer and the canny Philip Hobbs has booked Jamie Spencer for his return to the Flat.

The pair look  a good option for Warwick’s 5.10 race at odds of around 3/1.

At Sedgefield, Treasury Counsel catches the eye in the 5.00 contest.

Following a promising first run for trainer Evan Williams under a claimer last time out, this seven-year-old appears to be on a very favourable mark currently.

Today’s tips: Tanfidh & Suzi

By Editor On September 28th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

It’s ordinary fare today after an excellent weekend’s racing but Tanfidh can start the week in style with victory in the 4.10 race at Bath.

Marcus Tregoning has his string in great heart and this son of Marju should improve further on his last run at Leicester to see off these opponents.

Suzi Spends has a good record on all-weather tracks and is a soild each-way proposition on the 4.00 at Wolverhampton.

Today’s tips: Roman & Zahoo

By Editor On September 26th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

The Aidan O’Brien team have always rated Roman Empress very highly and she looks a good thing downgraded to a Group Three race at Gowran Park today.

Second to Chinese White and third to Dar Re Mi the time before, she meets nothing of that class here and 9/4 appeals as a sound betting proposition.

John Dunlop’s Zahoo is our next best and runs in the 4.05 at Haydock - the trainer has won this four times in the last eight years and looks to have found another winning opportunity with this progressive daughter of Nayef.

Ascot’s 3.40 is a hugely competitive seven-furlong handicap but we’re going to have a little each-way on Dhaular Dhar.

This is the perfect trip and course for Jim Goldie’s charge so 25/1 is worth an interest, especially with Jamie Spencer in the saddle. Big Noise is another decent long-shot.

Vale Of York is a sound each-way bet in Ascot’s 2.30 - don’t worry that Dettori has overlooked him, he didn’t ride him when he won last time out either.

Today’s tips: Woodlark & Send

By Editor On September 25th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Thursday was very profitable with our nap McMurdo Sound, advised when 3/1, scoring comfortably after being heavily backed into 15/8 - almost all our winners are big market movers so make sure you click on the adverts around the site and get best odds guaranteed and also free bets.

Today’s top tip is Woodlark Island in the 4.20 at Ascot - Marcus Tregoning’s charge scored for us last time out and can follow up here.

Odds of 8/1 make him a sound each-way bet, while we do feel Glowing Praise has decent claims in the same race.

Send Me Home runs in the 8.00 at Dundalk and our Irish contact feels he has outstanding form claims, in an admittedly competitive handicap.

Elsewhere, Aakef (2.35 Ascot), Five Cents (3.20 Haydock) and Dubawi Heights e/w (3.10 Ascot, and the filly who grabbed us a 66/1 place at York) were all very seriously considered today and were much closer to the top tip list than some of our discarded.

Today’s tips: McMurdo & Sov

By Editor On September 24th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Irish trainer Gordon Elliott is renowned for raids at Perth and McMurdo Sound can add to his tally by taking the 4.20 at the Scottish track today.

The application of a tongue tie seemed to improve him greatly last time out and he is one to keep on your side for the time being.

Sovereignty goes well at Kempton and Sophie Doyle has scored there on him twice this summer so the pair can run a big race at each-way odds of around 8/1 in the 6.00.

Blue Nymph is due a win and can land the 6.30 maiden for trainer Ralph Beckett.

Today’s tips: Wizard & Al

By Editor On September 23rd, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

A winning nap and next best yesterday, although the latter went off long odds-on after a host of non-runners.

Our couple of bets on Kieren Fallon since his return haven’t proved profitable so let’s hope for better when Beauchamp Wizard runs in Kempton’s 8.50 race.

This fellow ran better than the bare result shows when reappearing at Goodwood last month in an amateurs’ race and has the ability to score in this company.

Al Qeddaaf is on a reasonable mark for Kempton’s 7.20 and is fully expected to show further improvement for the extra two furlongs he faces today.

With both selections available at decent prices, an eachway double is worth considering.

Our best outsider is Agony and Ecstasy in the 8.20, also at Kempton, he won last time and should go well again, even with a young apprentice aboard.

Today’s tips: Silver & Game

By Editor On September 22nd, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

As with yesterday, it’s a tricky start to the week so keep stakes sensible, there’s some great stuff to follow by the weekend.

Silverglas‘ run at Goodwood last time was full of promise and he can move up a level by landing the 4.50 at Folkestone for trainer Marcus Tregoning.

Game Stalker is up against a Tregoning favourite (Tafaool) in the 4.20 but may surprise his rival, as he can show marked improvement against his Chepstow debut - if he’s around 4/1 in the market, consider the each-way ’steal’.

Elsewhere, we considered Ishetoo (3.30 Beverley), Rum Raisin (4.25 Fairyhouse) and Shanballa (2.40 Stratford).

Today’s tips: Faithful & Girl

By Editor On September 21st, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

The David Lanigan stable continues in red-hot form and Faithful One has a great chance to continue that run by taking the 3.30 at Kempton.

Magic Doll is feared but the form of the selection’s debut run is rock-solid and she is currently available at 4/1, so an each-way ’steal’ is possible.

Jamie Spencer is in the saddle for Saturn Girl in the 4.50 at Leicester - an eye-catching booking after a moderate run last time.

Implication has a great form chance in Kempton’s 5.30 - and Ryan Moore is booked.

Today’s tips: Genki & Laterly

By Editor On September 19th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Fantastic racing today and it was a real task to narrow down our picks to a nap and next best, as there are a number of well-priced runners.

The Ayr Gold Cup (3.10) is as competitive as ever but we feel Genki has more to give following his Stewards’ Cup success.

While he’s not drawn particularly well, Roger Charlton’s inmate has the class to complete a famous double, on the way to becoming a proper Group class sprinter.

At 12/1, he’s crying out to be backed each-way.

Laterly should have been placed at York last time and could provide a value each-way proposition at 28/1 in the tough John Smith’s Stakes (Newbury 2.50).

Others close to the shortlist were Quarrel (Newbury 2.20), Haadeeth (1.50 Newbury) and Brief Look (2.25 Newmarket) - it’s one of those days when there’s almost too many with chances! However, we’ve gone for the brave option with our two big-priced selections.

Today’s tips: Miracle & Gritstone

By Editor On September 18th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Yesterday’s two winners from two picks sets us up for some serious business today.

We had a good word for Miss Miracle before her debut and she showed huge promise in finishing fourth behind future May Hill winner Pollenator.

Some big yards are represented in Newmarket’s 2.30 but Clive Cox’s inmate is a great each-way (or win only if you’re braver) bet at around 9/2.

It’s a similar scenario with Gritstone in Ayr’s 1.50 - opponents from top stables mean a very promising first run hasn’t made the price too prohibitive.

Richard Fahey had a fantastic Thursday at the track and the yard are very sweet on this one, especially at odds of 6/1.

An each-way double on the above pair could also prove worthwhile.

Elsewhere (and just missing making our two daily tips), the going wouldn’t put us off Look Here as she has outstanding claims in Newbury’s 2.45 while, for those who like longshots, Motivational had massive excuses last time and could surprise in the 7.20.

Fly high with Aeroplane

By Editor On September 17th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Let’s hope for a better day today - Mutawarath ran like a drain and Rosewin bolted before the start even though she was second, she should probably have been withdrawn.

Aeroplane has outstanding form claims in the 5.50 at Wolverhampton.

He’s had a break since running well in the Victoria Cup at Ascot and, with Jamie Spencer aboard, should take this prize.

Collateral Damage landed a serious gamble for us last month and returns to Ayr in a bid to complete a hat-trick. Tim Easterby’s charge has obviously risen in the weights but stills looks on the upgrade to us and he’ll love the ground.

That’s our nap and next best - others we considered were Cappagh Strand and Group Leader at Wolves and Saborido at Yarmouth.

The power of each-way!

By Editor On September 16th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Each-way betting is a key part of our strategy - long-term subscribers will know this well and have reaped the benefits over the last few years.

We especially love ’steal’ bets where the place part covers the win bet - such as a fifth the odds on a 5/1 shot - bookies hate this style of betting - need any more persuasion?

Of course, the horse has to get placed for the bet to wipe its face but sensible selection means long-term profits.

Mutawarath hopefully fits the bill today - we’ve been following this William Haggas inmate and he can bounce back from a hiccup at Ayr by taking Kempton’s 6.50.

At the current 11/2, the e/w tag fits him perfectly, especially in a competitive field.

Only five runners go for Beverley’s 3.45 and Rosewin looks to have Point Of Light to beat.

Believe it or not, we’d even be tempted to back her e/w at 3/1 or bigger - most of your money back if she’s runner-up!

More likely, however, is that we’ll put the two horses above in an each-way double - you might be surprised how short the prices required to get your stake back are, but always think seriously whether win only is more suited to each different bet.

Think like a pro gambler and try to limit losses.

Favourites fancied at Lingfield

By Editor On September 15th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Our nap beats the third home by seven lengths yesterday and still finds one too good for him! How annoying is that! At least our e/w next best was placed at 6/1.

Marcus Tregoning’s team have turned around a mid-season slump and Qelaan can follow up her Folkestone victory by proving too good for her 2.50 Lingfield rivals.

Al Dafa is Frankie Dettori’s only mount on the card at the Surrey venue and our Godolphin contact is confident that the trip will be worthwhile as improvement is fully expected today (3.50).

For an each-way bet, Kieren Fallon rides Miss Chamanda for David Evans in Haydock’s 4.00 - odds of 5/1 are worth taking as this filly has strong place claims.

Art can grab Grand win

By Editor On September 14th, 2009 in Free Racing Tips /

Grand Art is back on a winning mark in Leicester’s 3.20 race and appears a decent value bet to start the week.

His second at Beverley last time out shows he’s in good heart and, with the Midgley stable ticking over nicely, odds of 3/1 are worth taking.

Dr Kildare would have been our nap at Listowel (3.45) but we’ve totally missed the boat - he’s now 9/4 from an early 6/1!

He’s very well fancied and will probably win, it’s just not the price we’d expected.

Instead, we’ll go for an each-way next best in the shape of Golan Go in the 2.45 there.

He might struggle to beat Suprise Vendor but is a better betting proposition at 6/1.
